They often ask me a favor to check (a) their travel plan, (b) the flight tickets, and (c) most importantly — the visa requirements. I have decided to search visa-free countries for Myanmar passport holders.
For usual travelers, you may have already known which countries do not require you to apply for a visa. If you have already known about it, you can continue reading the other blog posts. For some people, you will learn a little knowledge about passport and visa-free countries for Myanmar passport holders.
Ok….let’s start looking into some countries where you can go without a visa requirement.
Brunei is a country in Southeast Asia and is a tiny nation on the island of Borneo. It is known for its beaches and biodiverse rainforest. The capital city is called Bandar Seri Begawan. You can visit the opulent Jame’Asr Hassanil Bolkiah mosque and 29 golden domes. The capital’s massive Istana Nurul Iman palace is the residence of Brunei’s ruling sultan.
Cambodia is a country in Southeast Asian nations. The capital city is called Phnom Penh which is home to the art deco Central Market, glittering Royal Palace, and the National Museum’s historical and archaeological exhibits. You can visit Angkor Wat — a massive stone temple complex built in the Khmer Empire.
Ecuador is a country in South America. You can visit the Amazon jungle, Andean highlands, and the wildlife-rich Galapagos Islands. The capital city is called Quito which is known for its largely intact Spanish colonial center, palaces and religious sites.
Haiti is a Caribbean country. You may know and hear about Haiti from the song–Heal the World by Michael Jackson’s song. There are popular places for you to visit–Citadelle la Ferriere (a mountaintop fortress), and Sans-Souci Palace (former royal home of King Henry I.
Indonesia is one of the Southeast Asian countries. It is made up of thousands of volcanic islands and is a home to hundreds of ethnic group speaking languages. It is known for beaches, volcanoes, Komodo dragons and jungles sheltering elephants, orangutans, and tigers. The capital city is called Jakarta which is known for gamelan music and traditional puppetry.
Laos is one of the Southeast Asian countries. It is known for the mountainous terrain, French colonial architecture, hill tribe settlements, and Buddhist monasteries. The capital city, Vientiane, is the site of the That Luang monument which is the Buddha’s breastbone.
Micronesia is a country in Oceania. The capital city is called Palikir. The country is known for palm-shaded beaches, wreck-filled dives, and ancient ruins–Nan Madol (sunken basalt temples and burial vaults). This country has over 600 islands. Micronesia is made up of 4 island states: Pohnpei, Kosrae, Chuuk, and Yap.
The Philippines is one of the Southeast Asian countries. This country has over 7,000 islands. The capital city, Manila, is famous for its waterfront promenade and centuries-old Chinatown, Binondo. You can go shopping to Mall of Asia in Manila.
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
St. Vincent and the Grenadines is a southern Caribbean nation. The main island is called St. Vincent and it has a chain of smaller islands. This place is known for its major sailing destinations — reef-lined Bequia Island, chic private isles, and volcanic landscapes. The capital city is called Kingstown.
Singapore is known as the global financial center with a tropical climate and multicultural population. You can roam around Singapore to Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, Chinatown, and other tourist attractions.
Thailand is one of the Southeast Asian countries. It is known for the beaches, nightlife, opulent royal palaces, ancient ruins, ornate temples of Buddha, and other popular tourist attractions. The capital city is called Bangkok and is the home of Wat Arun, Wat Pho, and the Emerald Buddha Temple (Wat Phra Kaew). You can even go to beach resorts—Pattaya and fashionable Hua Hin.
Vietnam is one of the Southeast Asian countries on the South China Sea. It is known for its beaches, rivers, Buddhist pagodas, and bustling cities. The capital city is called Hanoi which is the homage to the nation’s iconic Communist-era leader, Ho Chi Minh.
